ASML and Mikrocentrum organised a workshop on NPI (New Product Introduction or Production) Engineering at Hittech Multin in The Hague, attended by 25 industry experts. The focus was on how to progress from a prototype to dependable production, and on sharing knowledge among industry professionals.
Bart van den Brink (on the left), Sr. Intervention Manager at ASML, and his colleague Mark van Bokhoven (standing on the right), Engagement Lead for the SS&P SC Transformation Team at ASML, facilitated a workshop on tackling extreme challenges in the semiconductor industry. They explored ways to manage a steep ramp-up, set limitations, and uphold the high quality for which the Dutch industry is renowned, ultimately aiming to โsolve the impossibleโ in a productive and cost-effective manner.
Peter Molenaar, Senior Technical Product Manager at Hittech Multin, presented the โHittech way of workingโ. His colleague Jeroen Valentijn, Manager TPM-CI, demonstrated the Hittech way of working in practice through an insightful tour of the Hittech Multin cleanroom and associated production facilities, including the warehouse, together with Pieter Kappelhof, Hittech Group Director of Technology.
Peter Molenaar: โOne of the most important strengths of our industry is knowledge sharing and striving for close, open collaboration. It may be the most vital boundary condition in solving the impossible. This workshop was an excellent example of this open, collaborative attitude.โ
The workshop is part of the Dutch Beethoven educational programme for the semiconductor industry, launched by the Dutch government in 2024 to maintain and further enhance its competitive position in the microchip sector and support the growth of Brainport Eindhoven. The Netherlands plays a leading role globally in this industry, with the Brainport region acting as an innovation hub.
