In Hittech Group’s parts manufacturing process, we fully utilise vertical integration, says Marco Verloop, Hittech Group COO. We asked him why he chose to integrate certain competencies within the group and others through a network of preferred partners.
Marco Verloop: βIn brief, our strategy is to keep core competencies within the group, such as CNC Milling, Gluing, Nickel Plating, Anodising, Cleaning, and Laser Welding. The latter is an interesting example of a skill that we have gradually incorporated into our key capabilities. We do this to fully benefit from vertical integration: a combination of proven added value to Hittech Group, greater control over competencies, and meeting client expectations.β
Two technologies within the Shaping step stand out: RPD and Powder Bed Printing. Why are these part of a fixed partnership?
Marco Verloop: βThese are relatively new technologies that need to be proven in the market both ways: for us to test them as an alternative technology, and for the partners to build up experience in the market. Our extended partnership with Norsk Titanium is a good example of this two-way benefit, as you probably read in our message from last week. After building a proven portfolio of aerospace applications, we expand the use of their 3D printing technology for titanium parts for our clients in the semiconductor and aerospace industries. That is a big step for us and for Norsk Technology.β
