Integrating 3D printing and flexible post-processing (3D&FPP)

Initiated by Hittech Group and InnovationQuarter, a start was made in 2015 on the construction of a European consortium to jointly work on an optimized and integrated post-processing system for metal 3D printing. This project falls within the Interreg 2 Seas Program 2014-2020 and is subsidized by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Together with various partners from the Netherlands, England and Belgium, we are working on an integrated solution for flexible clamping of a printed intermediate product, scanning and measuring the workpiece to compare the data with the intended design, and translating the measured deviations to machining instructions. Because intermediate production steps can be eliminated in this way, great time and cost savings are achieved compared to conventional finishing methods.
